Fish on a plate

The application is made of pasta of various shapes on a plate. As a basis used ordinary clay for children's creativity.
 Application of pasta
Motivated to create a huge range of pasta on the shelves of supermarkets, diverse in shape and size. I saw a lot of creativity in this. Previously, I saw how in this technique the crafts made from cereals were performed. Plasticine stuck to the bottle or glass, and then laid out drawings of various cereals. It turned out very cute. I took a plate for my craft. It is better to use glass, ceramic or plastic dishes. With a single dish or foam plates it's not very convenient to work, and the look of the finished craft is worse. Picked up pasta, which, in my opinion, the most suitable for fish.
 Application of pasta
Prepared plasticine.I love improvisation, so I had a sketch in my head, but you can first draw an outline with a marker for glass on a plate. Work flow: 1. Slightly warmed the clay on the battery (you can warm it up and stretch it in your hands). 2. Then molded the contour of the fish from clay on a plate about 5 mm thick. Thinner to do it in this case is not worth it, since large pasta will not hold well. It is not necessary to strictly follow the sketch. Excess clay is easy to remove, and if not enough, you can slightly smudge it in the process.

3. Then she proceeded to “stick” pasta. They must be pressed deeper to keep well. First she took large macaroni, then filled the remaining space with small horns. Empty niches filled with rice to the maximum. Long pasta for the tail was broken off by hands approximately the size, in some places it was folded into 2-3 pieces. After painting and varnishing the joints become almost imperceptible.

4. I painted the finished fish with gouache, and eye and mouth with nail polish.Of course, it is easier to pre-paint the pasta and use the already painted ones, but in this case there is less room for creativity. It is important to paint with a ton brush thick gouache clay in the intervals, otherwise the handicraft will look messy. 5. Varnishing is an obligatory and final stage, as the varnish not only adds shine and makes the look more aesthetic, but also securely fixes the appliqué on the plate. I used lacquer for furniture quick-drying. It is important to apply a lot of varnish so that it leaks and fills the space between the pasta. In addition, I made a lacquered edging 5 mm wide around the craft. I covered this craft with 5 layers, which I applied as it dried. Less embossed applications are enough to cover with 2-3 layers of varnish. After the varnish has dried, the crafts are ready. Few people, not looking at her closely, realized that it was made from ordinary pasta. The technique is very simple and my children took an active part in the work. Even a 4-year-old daughter with pleasure stuck pasta and painted them with a brush.
