Alteration of an induction motor into a generator

Removing the covers, remove rotor. The stator windings remain native, the engine is not rewound, everything remains as it is, unchanged. The rotor was being customized to order. It was decided to make it not all-metal, but national teams.

That is, the native rotor is grinded to a certain size. Turned steel glass and pressed into the rotor. In my case, the scan thickness is 5 mm.

The marking of places for gluing magnets was one of the most complicated operations. As a result, by trial and error it was decided to print out a template on paper, cut out circles in it for neodymium magnets - they are round. And glue the magnets on the pattern on the rotor. The main snag occurred in cutting out multiple circles in paper. All sizes are selected individually for each engine.It is impossible to give any general dimensions for placing magnets.

A mesh was made of a nylon thread for reinforcement.

Then everything is wrapped with tape, the bottom is made of sealed formwork, sealed with clay, and the top of the filling funnel from the same tape. Everything is filled with epoxy resin.

Resin slowly flows from top to bottom.

After the epoxy resin hardens, remove the adhesive tape.

Now everything is ready for generator assembly.

We drive the rotor into the stator.This should be done very carefully, since neodymium magnets have tremendous power and the rotor literally flies into the stator.

Magnets do not touch. Almost no sticking, spinning is relatively easy. Checking work. Rotate the generator from a drill, with a speed of 1300 rpm. The motor is connected by a star, the triangles of this type can not be connected, will not work. The voltage for checking between phases is removed.
