How to Make Red Lobster's® Cheddar Biscuits

But if you're tired of going to Red Lobster to taste these biscuits, then you can make these biscuits in the comforts of your own home. If you want to know how to make cheddar biscuits that will make your friends think you brought them home from Red Lobster, just follow these steps.

Ingredients

Simple Red Lobster Biscuits

  • ¾ cup cold whole milk
  • 4 tbsp. cold butter
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • ¼ tsp. dried parsley flakes
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • Pinch salt

Creamy Red Lobster Biscuits

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. granulated sugar
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 4 oz. (1 cup) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cold buttermilk
  • ½ cup melted unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp. melted unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. minced parsley

Steps

Simple Red Lobster Biscuits

  1. Preheat your oven to 400ºF (204ºC).
  2. Combine the Bisquick® and cold butter in a medium bowl.Use a large fork or a pastry cutter to combine 2 ½ cups of Bisquick® baking mix and 4 tbsp. of cold butter. Mix the ingredients for just 30 second or so -- you should avoid mixing them too thoroughly. Leave small chunks of butter in the mix.
  3. Add the cheddar cheese, milk, and garlic to the mixture.Add 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese, ¾ cup of cold whole milk, and ¼ tsp. of garlic to the mixture. Mix the ingredients by hand until they're combined, for about 1 minute or so. Again, avoid over-mixing them.
  4. Place the dough on an ungreased cookie sheet.Place ¼-cup portions of the dough on an ungreased cookie sheet. You can use a large spoon or an ice cream scoop.
  5. Bake the dough for 15-17 minutes.Bake the biscuits until their tops begin to turn light brown. Then, remove them from the oven.
  6. Make the garlic butter.You can do this while the biscuits are cooking. Melt 2 tbsp. of butter in a small bowl and stir in ½ tsp. of garlic powder and ¼ tsp. of dried parsley flakes.
  7. Spread the garlic butter over the tops of the biscuits.Use a brush to spread the garlic butter over the tops of the biscuits until you've used it all. Let the biscuits cool for at least 5 minutes.
  8. Serve.Enjoy these biscuits while they're hot.

Creamy Red Lobster Biscuits

  1. Preheat your oven to 475ºF (246ºC).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper on a non-stick baking mat.Set it aside.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper together in a large bowl.Whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp. of baking powder, ½ tsp. of baking soda, 1 tsp. of granulated sugar, ¾ tsp. of salt, ½ tsp. of garlic powder, and ¼ tsp. of cayenne pepper together in a bowl. Set the bowl aside when you're done.
  4. Stir the buttermilk and melted butter together in a medium bowl.Stir together 1 cup of cold buttermilk and ½ cup of melted unsalted butter together until the mixture forms small clumps.
  5. Add the buttermilk mixture to the flour mixture.Mix them gently until the dough forms and there are no dry ingredients left.
  6. Place the dough on the baking sheet.Use a greased ¼-cup measuring cup to scoop out the dough evenly and place it onto the sheet. Make sure that all of the dough is separated by over an inch.
  7. Bake the biscuits for 10-12 minutes.Bake them until they're golden brown. Remove the biscuits from the oven when they're ready.
  8. Make the garlic butter mixture.You can make this mixture while the biscuits are baking. To do this, stir together 2 tbsp. of melted unsalted butter, ½ tsp. of garlic powder, and 1 tsp. of minced parsley.
  9. Brush the biscuits with the garlic butter mixture.Let them cool for 5 minutes.
  10. Serve.Enjoy these hot biscuits at any time.

    For me, I like to make the dough the night before. Then, let the dough rise overnight. This will help make them fluffier. 20 minutes before the time you need them, put them into the oven. You should bake the biscuits until they have a nice golden brown on the outside.
