Old vinyl record clock

In this article, you will learn how to make aWall clock from an old vinyl record. For manufacturing will require a minimum of costs. This is also a great option for beginners to test their strengths.

Materials and tools:

  1. old vinyl record;
  2. clockwork (can be bought in the store for "masters") or disassemble unnecessary hours;
  3. scissors;
  4. acrylic lacquer in a can;
  5. Adhesive moment
  6. sandpaper, file;
  7. AA battery (finger);
  8. soft cloth and degreasing agent (wipes for cleaning the monitor).

Step 1

Let’s measure the clock mechanism so that the shaft for the arrows passes through the hole in the plate, if the hole is small, then increase it using a file or sandpaper.

Degrease the surface and clean it of dirt and dust using a soft cloth and degreasing agent or wipes to clean the monitor before applying varnish.

Step 2

Make sure the surface is dry and dust free. We proceed to painting in a well ventilated room - take a can of varnish, shake it well and apply it to the plate in 1-3 layers. Let each layer dry for about 15 minutes.

Step 3

After the paint has dried, let's proceed to sticking numbers on our dial. First, we carefully arrange the numbers 12, 3, 6, 9 on the dial-plate - for convenience, you can draw 2 diagonals perpendicular to each other - make sure that we glue the dial correctly, then arrange and paste the rest - 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 , 8, 10, 11 in the same way.

Step 4

Install the clock.

  1. unscrew the nut and washer from the shaft;
  2. insert the shaft through the hole in the plate;
  3. put on the washer and the nut and tightly twist it;
  4. put the minute, hour and second hands on the shaft.
  5. All Wall Watches from an old vinyl record are ready.
