Rose in a Vase of Leather

You will need:

elastic skin of different colors;

scissors; tweezers; candle;

double and single knife

(or a can opener)

shoe knife;

glue brush;

boules 35, 30.25, 20.15 mm;

punch 2 mm; glue PVA;

cardboard; burlap;

a wooden blank for a vase;

wooden frame.

The picture consists of 3 roses, and 20-25 flowers of gypsophila.

Today, we will make an original rose, but there is not always enough time for a hobby, especially if you have plans to build a house with your own hands, you will definitely start building a house with walls. Quick and budgetary option - to use concrete blocks, in the results you will get strong and warm walls. Concrete blocks can be purchased here -

Prepare two cartons for the inside dimension of the frame. Cut out burlap or sackcloth with a 2–3 cm allowance. Place one cardboard sheet with glue, apply a cloth and smooth out well. Turning to the wrong side, glue the allowances and the second corton. Put under the press until completely dry (but one day).

A wooden blank imitating a vase, cut along. Smear with glue and tighten skin, straightening folds. On the seamy side, cut off the excess skin and dry it.

Make the templates (scale in mm 1: 3): petals 1.2, 3 pieces each, 3 and 4 pieces 5, for one flower; 1 leaf (5) and 4 leaves (6) for one branch; one stalk for roses and twigs. The heart of the rose is almost invisible, so cut out a circle with a diameter of 20 mm for it and prod it with a bulb (d = 12-15 mm) on a soft pillow. Fill it with cotton wool, glue it at the base so that you get a ball around which you glue the petals.

Before assembling the flower, process the petals with a bouillon (d = 20, 25, 30, 35 mm, according to the size of the petal) on the front side of the soft pillow (in Figure A, these places are indicated by a dotted line).

Burn the upper edges of the petals on the fire, holding the candles on the wrong side of the flame (places marked with hatching in Figure A).

At the bottom of the petal, make a longitudinal incision to make it easier to glue the petals. Split the ends to the sides, this will give the petal more volume.

Glue three petals in succession around the core.Place them around the center evenly, so that the left edge of the petal is on top of the right edge of the previous petal, and the right edge of the third petal is glued under the left edge of the first petal. Each subsequent petal is glued in the same way. Having a flower, let it dry (day), and then cut off the lower part of the flower at an angle with a sharp knife so that it can be glued to the plane at an angle. Sepals can not glue.

"Fry" the leaves but the hot frying pan face up. Sell the central veins on a rigid cushion with a double knife, and the laterals are single. Glue the stalks along, after folding them in half, and glue the leaves to the wrong side (fig. B).

To give a bouquet of volume, add stylized hypsophila flowers to it.

Prepare 20 - 25 color blanks using a template (7), punch (d = 2mm) through the same number of cores. Execute 4 - 5 blanks of stems (8).

From the seamy side with a 3.5 mm bulka on a soft pillow, push each petal and then the middle from the front side. Glue the core into the middle of the flower. Stems gypsophila should be sufficiently thin and rigid.To do this, put the blanks (8) but a hot pan and hold for a little longer than usual so that they spin and become rigid. Dip the ends of the stalks in the PVA glue (thick) and glue the flowers.
