- Mussels - 30 pieces;
- Shallot bulbs - 2 pcs (you can take a turnip);
- Hazelnuts - 3 tablespoons;
- Garlic - 2 slices;
- Water - 1 tablespoon;
- Parsley - 1 bunch;
- Olive oil - 4 tablespoons;
- Black pepper (freshly ground);
- Lemon - 1 pc.
- Cooking mussels is a delicate matter. First, the seafood must be washed under running cold water. Inanimate mussels need to be thrown away, they can spoil the taste of the whole dish. Put them in a large saucepan and cover with cold water.
- Cook the mussels in the pan with the lid closed. Cooking time approximately 6-7 minutes. Whether mussels are ready to help themselves, they must open up. Undiscovered shells can be thrown away.
- Now you need to start cooking the sauce. Thinly and finely chop the shallot, which must first be removed from the husk. Peel the garlic and chop it in the garlic press. Nuts should be cleaned from the shell and chopped with a large knife. Wash, dry with a napkin and chop the parsley (the smaller, the better).
- All the listed ingredients are mixed, pour vegetable oil and water into the mixture. Season the dish with salt, freshly ground pepper and squeeze out a small amount of lemon juice (if you do not like the lemon flavor, you can not add it).
- Now you need to wash cooked mussels. One of the valves of the shell need to be removed and discarded. The second flap is needed as a small plate. Leave the contents of the mussel on it. Place the shells on a large flat plate, sprinkled with salt, this is necessary so that the shells do not turn over. Put one spoon of cooked peanut sauce in each shell and put them in the fridge for a couple of hours. Before serving, it is important to get the dish out of the fridge so that it is cold.
The dish is very tasty, but getting fresh mussels can be quite difficult. Therefore, you can replace them with canned mussels in brine. You can apply them on salty crackers.
